'The house was very comfortable with everything you need to feel right at home. It was so quiet and peaceful with no neighbours in sight. We enjoyed the darkness at night and being able to see the milky way clearly. We got a real feel for what it was like to live the farming life long ago by looking through the old farm journals, reading the family's history, the book of poems. There's a family of superb blue wrens who live in the garden, as well of gobs of other bird life all day long.'

"My family and I had a very enjoyable time staying at Rostrata.
The open space, quiet tranquil location and fresh air were great (just what we needed). The farm house had everything we needed plus many little touches that help to make our stay more enjoyable.
The history of the property and the area is fascinating and the number of historical towns and villages nearby provide plenty to do beyond the fences.
Hopefully we will be back soon".

"Our family recently (Mum,
Dad and 4 small kids) enjoyed the hospitality of Colin
and Dot Silke at 'Rostrata' country house in Tarnagulla.
It was well worth the short 1/2 hr drive out of Bendigo
to stay in the very well appointed and authentically decorated
country home. With all the modern luxuries we didn't miss
anything, in fact we felt rather spoiled by the thoughtful
touches to make our stay special, right down to the extra
towels and kitchen provisions. Set in the peace and tranquility
of classic Victorian countryside, we enjoyed the family
history and pretty gardens of the homestead. This place
is fantastic ... you can't go wrong."

"The house was in such a peaceful
location and had all the amenities, plus a lot of little
touches e.g. chocolate eggs for Easter,that one needs
for a break form the city and its noises. We loved sitting
on the verandah or in the garden enjoying a book and cuppa
and taking in the country surrounds and the beautiful
blue wrens hopping around the lovely garden. Great locale
for exploring the area."
