ABOUT US
Colin and Dorothy Silke
Colin grew up at Rostrata, the home that his Grandfather built.
After attending the Murphy’s Creek State School, which was opposite the entrance into Rostrata, Colin rode his bike to catch the bus in Tarnagulla. He attended the Bendigo High School for two years, then to the Junior Technical School for two years, and completed his education at the School of Mines completing a Farm Mechanics Course.
On the early death of his father, Colin took over the responsibility of managing the farm which at that time consisted of Merino sheep and cropping.
Today we have the privilege of being able to share this home with others.
We acknowledge that this is only possible due to the sacrifices made by the previous generations.
